Special Report : One Man, One Board, One Big Country
British man Dave Cornthwaite has left the Royal Perth Yacht Club at
11:30am on August 20th 2006 on Elsa, his yellow LongBoard on a journey
that will cover 6'000 km all the way to Brisbane. Arriving Sydney
on December 16th he broke the World Record in long distance skating
covering 4'831 km. Early January he continued the journey and arrived
in Brisbane on the 22nd of January 2007.
Here his 5823 km long journey ended. TheMagicTouch is proud
to be one of the main Sponsors for another one of these unusual events,
where great People do very special things. Please find out about Dave's
trip at www.boardfree.org.au
and don't forget your donation.
For five months a British man skated hard. The length
of the Great Eastern Highway, across the Nullarbor, through Adelaide,
through the Coorong, along the Great Ocean Road, past Melbourne, through
Gippsland, over the Great Dividing Range and the enormous hills which
layer the New South Wales South Coast. Reaching Eden, NSW, he became
the first man to cross Australia on a skateboard. In Sydney he broke
the world record for the longest distance ever travelled on a skateboard
in one journey. And now he's done.
